Biography
Dr. Tejani-Butt is a Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Her research areas include the regulation of biogenic amines in an animal model of depressive behavior, implications of these biogenic amines in modulating a stress response, reward and addictive behaviors, and the action of drugs in psychiatric disorders. Dr. Tejani-Butt has been the recipient of intramural and extramural grants for the past 25 years and published extensively in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Tejani-Butt received her PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the Medical College of Virginia, her MS in Organic Chemistry and BS in Chemistry and Microbiology from the University of Bombay.

Neuropsychopharmacology, alcohol and substance abuse, stress and psychiatric disorders Molecular Mechanisms associated with the regulation of biogenic amines in an animal model of depressive behavior; implication of these biogenic amines in modulating a stress response, reward and addictive behaviors, as well as in the therapeutic action of drugs used to treat psychiatric disorders.
